Dear friends and family: This has been a wonderful year! I feel like exclaiming: “Life begins at 80!” I pray for a blessed Christmas for you & yours and a hope-filled year ahead! We need hope, faith & love. Everyone does. The Lord is our ever present help in time of need!
Family reunion: Last year 19 of us gathered for a family reunion at Paul and Ann’s in Florida Dec. 26 to Jan. 2. I flew down early to spend Christmas day there. Here are some photos:
Our bodies are the homes in which we live, so it makes good sense to take good care of them! When we’re young, we take health for granted. As we get older we realize how precious it is. Jesus taught that when we believe in Him as our Savior and Lord, He comes to dwell in us, bringing us into a loving relationship with our Heavenly Father, who sends His Holy Spirit to be our Guide and Comforter. He says our bodies are the temples of the Living God. Wow! I was quite healthy before I was operated on for cancer in 2006. Then I became so sick and weak, I knew I had to toss out fear, and trust in God completely! I stood on this: “He’s either going to heal me here in the present, or in heaven in the future, but I know I’ll be healed.” That got rid of all doubt, and through much prayer, love, and fine care, He worked the miracle of healing me completely! His regenerative power is at work in our bodies continually, or else we wouldn’t be here! We can thank Him for our every breath. We can show our gratitude by taking good care of the “temple” He has given us, through clean living, adequate sleep, nutritious eating, vitamins, especially D-3, regular exercise, and most important: wholesome, positive attitudes, using our strength for good and godly purposes. We can either live full of faith, or give in to fear. The Bible says: Perfect love drives out fear, and God has that perfect love for us. In a choice between fear or faith there’s no comparison. I choose faith!!
